Paul Johnson is a legend of the Chicago house scene, and is currently in intensive care due to battling a COVID-19 infection.
News of Paul Johnson’s hospitalisation came via Instagram on Sunday the 18th of July when he posted a video from his hospital bed. Posting a couple of updates on his Instagram account, it was confirmed that his conditioned has worsened, and he was being taken to the Intensive Care Unit.
One of the posts reads: “Shits taken A TURN for the worse,” then continued “Next is to transfer me to downtown an [sic] a full throat ventilator. Meaning I will not be breathing for myself.”
The concerning news has spread across the electronic music community and some of those wishing him a speedy recovery include Cynthie, Patrick Topping, KiNK, Honey Dijon and many others.
Many are most familiar with Paul Johnson’s 1992 chart hit ‘Get Get Down’, but he is way more than just a one hit wonder, and his extensive back catalogue includes many other underground hits.
