Salzberg based DJ and producer Hannes Bruniic has made a string of releases on some of the world’s most in demand techno and tech house imprints and has played some of the coolest parties in Ibiza.

How old are you, where are you living and how long have you been producing and Djing? What’s the scene like and how often are you playing?

Hannes Bruniic: I’m 43, live in Salzburg (Austria). I started my career 1989 with the age of 16. I prefer techno, which includes different types of music styles like deephouse, techhouse or electronica.

What made you first get in to dance music?

Hannes Bruniic: I was inspired by Jean Michel Jarre, because I was fascinated by his music style which is full of melodic synthesizer sounds. I am still in love with his music and I found my personal way to connect and combine my music with elements of Jean Michel.

How difficult was learning to produce for you in the beginning? 

Hannes Bruniic: As I started with making music at the beginning of the 90s it was more work than now. Cause you had to record all instruments separately without a computer. Later I worked with “Cubase” music program. This time I switch between “studio one” and “ableton”. I learned all by myself. I know, that I’m not perfect but I trust in my work and I will learn every day new lessons.

Talk to us about one of your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

Hannes Bruniic: I produced for wellknown labels like Deeperfect, Monique Musique, Pacha Recordings, Shibiza Records or Great Stuff Music. In the last 6 Months I released around 30 tracks. “The Voice (Joe Red Remix” reached number 1 on Monza Ibiza Records. Each Track has it own story. My Inspiration comes from my heart – it’s all about music.

What are your go to labels?

Hannes Bruniic: I’m really happy with my releases at the labels I work with. But I am always looking forward. So would be cool to release on labels like “stil vor talent”, “suara” or “toolroom”.

What have been your biggest achievements to date? 

Hannes Bruniic: My personal highlights were my Gigs at Ibiza Clubs like Amnesia, Space, Pacha and Bora Bora. Also to stay on stage with DJs like Adam Beyer, Sam Paganini, Chris Liebing, Jan Blomqvist and many more.

Can you talk us through your DJ setup and mix  

Hannes Bruniic: Yes, of course. Sometimes I took my synthesizer with me. But this time it’s easier to take 2 USB – cause it’s better to fly because of the luggage. The set is typical me. Once someone called me “the Master of Melody”. Most important and significant are the melodic elements . The mix includes a brand new track of mine. I hope you enjoy it. What was the real break through point in your career?

Hannes Bruniic: My personal break through was 2011 when I played first time at Club Space Ibiza. To stay in the line up with Carl Cox was unforgettable feeling.

Which track are you most proud of and why?

Hannes Bruniic: My number one is “ljubim te Melanie”. A song – made for my wife. Second is “Srecno Pot”. The track is fantastic. A floorfiller and techno bomb. Also “Scrooge” – this one is definitely my way of music. “Sanje” is a cool track. It shows that I’m in love with a lot of music styles and i like to make experiments.

What’s coming next from you and how can fans connect?  

Hannes Bruniic: To release tracks, tracks and more tracks. I will release on labels like Monique Musique or Shibiza Records. Also to work on my projects like „Techno Donnerstag“ and my Tour label “Underground Ibiza”. Of course I also plan some international gigs like in Ibiza from 18th to 22nd of July.
