This weekend, Harbour Park was mobbed with teenagers who attended without masks or social distancing.
Police in Hamburg were called out last Saturday to an illegal rave in the city’s Harbour Park.
Apparently, hundreds of people had gathered in the park for an illegal rave without masks or any social distancing.
According to Germany’s Speigel, the police had to break up several meeting points where people had gathered, and they had to post officers on permanent duty in the location.
Reports suggest that most people in attendance were teenagers, and it’s believed that there were as many as 500 people at the illegal rave.
Nice weather had already caused reports of people gathering at the park in the daytime without COVID-19 restrictions being followed, but it’s not stated whether these same groups stayed for the evening’s illegal rave.
There were also reports of a 50-person flash mob of dancers that did an impromptu performance in the park, which by all accounts seemed to have a lot of hustle and bustle throughout the day.
For those unaware, a “flash mob” is a group of people that do a pre-rehearsed dance performance in a public space, where random passers-by become the unsuspecting audience. The fact they are heavily rehearsed for all the dancers to be in sync with each other seems to imply that social distancing guidelines were not followed, as 50 people is a group that way exceeds safety guidelines.
