Federico Monachesi – Sephdar (Stellar Fountain)

The latest release on Stellar Fountain welcomes Federico Monachesi back to the label for his debut single.

Federico Monachesi - Sephdar (Stellar Fountain)

The Argentinean producer first appeared on the Hungarian imprint in February of 2014 with a remix of Alex Vidal’s ‘Stellarium’. It’s been over two years and Federico has added Seven Spirits, Suffused Music and The Last Of Us to his discography. Now for his first release of 2016 we see Federico presenting his first single for Stellar Fountain entitled ‘Sephdar’ alongside remixes from Luis Kiverling, Danny Lloyd and Paul Deep & Martin Gardoqui.

The original mix finds Federico crafting a tribal infused progressive house production which really hits the spot. Anchored by a mammoth groove, it’s driving energy slowly evolves into a gorgeous musical creation with tasteful motifs leading the track into the main break. Expertly executed, the break keeps the groove locked before a brief drop and vocal stab summons the beats back for a magic moment. With the melodies washed away the low-end flows through a series of chord changes before the melodic elements reconvene for a blissful conclusion. Wonderful work from Federico.

First up on the remixes Luis Kiverling makes his Stellar Fountain debut and brings a deeper approach to ‘Sephdar’. The Argentine’s rugged grooves immediately bring character to the production while the dreamy motifs from the original bring fine emotional content. The vocal samples add just the right human element here while a barrage of spacey designs tantalizes the senses, particularly during a gorgeous break. For a producer that only has a handful of productions to his credit there’s a lovely vibe happening on this one, a very raw but emotional trip. Great remix from Luis.

The second interpretation of ‘Sephdar’ is provided by Danny Lloyd who is also making his first appearance on Stellar Fountain. The Italian artist of Sudbeat and Dopamine Music fame is loved for his smooth, effortless productions and he’s brought that magic here once again. Sleek and dubby are the operative words and they make for a gorgeous first act. The break however brings some lovely emotion with a revamp of the lead elements into an airy, melodic delight. Again everything Danny does just sounds effortless, like your floating through space and with a perfectly tailored hypno groove you just want to listen to it over and over. Beautiful remix from Danny.

Closing the release out is Paul Deep & Martin Gardoqui who are making their second appearance on Stellar Fountain but first as a duo. Perhaps best known for their bootleg productions, many of which have earned play from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Paul and Martin also own a collective discography that includes appearances on 238W, Asymmetric Dip, BCSA and Hydrogen. For their ‘Sephdar’ interpretation the duo have stayed very true to the main themes from the original all while opening the production up quite a lot. There’s a great sense of space with titanium kicks and widescreen drums delivering some serious punch, all while the serene narrative from the original plays out over the top. A strong mix to conclude another very well put together release form Stellar Fountain. Don’t miss it.
