Burning Man has revealed a trailer for its 2021 virtual edition after officially cancelling its in-person event last month due to the pandemic.
The virtual event will run between August 22nd and September 7th and follow on from last year’s event which was also forced to be held virtually.
Those who decide to attend this year’s virtual festival will be able to explore six Virtual Burn Worlds. Each of the worlds will have its own 3D art, and allow attendees to participate in online community workshops.
Using their desktop computer, mobile device or VR headset, people can also intermingle and meet others attending the Virtual Burn.
Organisers called off the in-person event after first saying it could go-ahead for those who had the vaccine or could provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. This caused some backlash from the festival’s community and instead made the decision to postpone the in-person event until 2022.
