The download store has also announced an NFT series featuring Charlotte de Witte, Sasha and more.

Beatport today announced that in June 2021 it plans to start accepting payments in Bitcoin.

Also, Beatport has revealed a new audio-visual NFT compilation called “Music For Future Dance Floors” that will be available on April 23rd 2021. Some of the artists who feature include Sasha, Boys Noize, Charlotte de Witte and Pan-Pot. The NFT has visual art from Leif Podhajsky who has previously collaborated with Bonobo.

The NFT will be broken down into what’s being referred to as “mini-drops” priced at $303 each. There will also be an auction for the full compilation which includes a bonus track, plus tickets to gigs by some of the artists involved.

Robb McDaniels is CEO of Beatport, and in a statement, he said: “For Beatport, this is just the beginning of our exploration into the metaverse,” then continued; “and we are committed to the long-term opportunities this revolutionary technology portends.

Beatport has said the company plans to donate part of the proceeds to charity, and you can find the drop for Music For Future Dance Floors HERE.
