The system works around a QR code given to people who have had a negative COVID-19 test.
Spain has announced plans to trial a new pilot scheme for opening clubs without social distancing or masks. The trial will take place in Barcelona and other parts of the Costa Brava area.
This scheme aims to prove indoor nightlife can be opened during the pandemic under strict health and safety regulations.
The formula being tested has been devised in conjunction with biosafety specialists SeiXsein Europe. If successful, it will be possible to use it anywhere in the world, so there will be a lot of crossed fingers and eyes on Spain during the trial period.
Participants are required to get a COVID-19 test and show a negative result, and an app for contact track and tracing. People with a negative test result will be issued a non-transferable QR code via the Liberty Pass APP.
Clubs and venues participating in the trial will then scan the QR code to monitor who is in the venue, and ensure everyone in attendance isn’t currently infected with the novel coronavirus.
Venues who use this app system must also install a COVID-19 elimination device that sanitises the air and surfaces to kill 100% of the COVID-19 virus. The COVID-19 elimination devices are approved by the Spanish National Accreditation Entity, and also used by countries in Asia alongside health wards including places like Intensive Care Units.
