Archie Hamilton is one of the world’s leading deep-tech/minimal artists.
MicroHertz delivers its first release of the year from label owner Archie Hamilton himself as he teams up with Tigerlight to deliver a single of the utmost quality titled ‘Compulsion’.
Archie Hamilton finished 2022 and entered 2023 with 3 massive events at Warehouse Project, Fabric London and DC10 on New Year’s Day, finishing what has been an intense year of shows where he has performed all around the world taking his ever popular groove and energetic sonics worldwide. Following on from his ‘Motion Lotion’ EP on Microhertz last year, he dropped a powerful remix for Jesse Jacob on PIV in December, whilst touring Australia with Prunk’s label, during which time he was showcasing ‘Compulsion’ which caused a substantial buzz.
Speaking about the new project Archie Hamilton said: “Last year was the first year I’ve focussed more on touring rather than studio work, so it was great to get some time to work with super talented vocalist Tigerlight, on this new record. This is my first release of the year and I’m really excited about it; going back to my roots sonically but with a fresh approach. I’ve got loads of new music in the pipeline for 2023, some of the same vibe as what I’ve been making recently and some bits heading in a completely new direction…”
On ‘Compulsion’ he has teamed up with spoken word artist Tigerlight who has previously collaborated with profile names across the genre spectrum, such as Quivver, Dave Seaman, Saison, and AC Slater, whose music has all benefited from her first rate writing skills and unique sounding vocals. The track itself is has a low slung and effortless, an ever evolving rolling groove that is guaranteed to put a skip in your step, with Tigerlight providing her classy and composed brand of spoken word vocals, topped off with harmonies and sung parts creating a repetitious and infectious track that will shake dancefloors everywhere.
