The latest release on Classound Recordings finds label boss Luis Bondio collaborating with long time studio partner Antrim for a brand new single.
The Argentinean duo is fresh off their ‘Brain Damage’ single on Balkan Connection just 2 weeks ago and now present their latest studio project ‘Unexpected Call’ alongside a remix from Lonya.
The aforementioned ‘Brain Damage’ proved to be one of Antrim and Luis’ darker productions to date while ‘Unexpected Call’ comes in quite cool and quirky. There’s a bleepy vibe to this which is very unique while a buzzing bass line keeps a nice flow throughout, as the design gets all the more spacey with each passing loop. The main break goes off just a bit with some gnarly modulation and granular decay, setting up an intense third act with a barrage of sonics coming at you from all angles. A heady track for sure but also one for a clued up dance floor as well. Another good one from Antrim and Luis.
The lone interpretation of ‘Unexpected Call’ is provided by Lonya who is making his first appearance on Classound. The Russian born, Israel based artist and Asymmetric label boss takes those quirky themes and brings a dubbier contemporary approach which complements the original nicely. Backed by a punchy, hypnotic groove the chopped elements from the original converge for an undeniably funky lead theme. Unpredictable and with that modern wonk it’s a subversive journey that’s going to be great for floor and should find favour with a wide range of DJs. Wonderful remix from Lonya and my fave on the release as well. Another great offering from Luis Bondio’s Classound Recordings once again. Don’t miss it.
