Escape to Ibiza this Bank Holiday

August bank holiday weekend is fast approaching and if you fancy doing something different this year and getting away from reality, why not escape to Ibiza? With plenty of parties on, here are some of our top picks…

Defected
Eden
Friday 23rd August

With its infectious house tunes, inclusive vibe and affordable prices, Defected has been an island-favourite for decades. The famed UK party takes place at Eden on Fridays where the party carries on for another summer of the hottest house music out there. As anybody who has experienced a Defected night at Eden will surely attest, the party promotes a back-to-basics style clubbing, resigning VIP culture to the shadows in favour of an equalising dance floor. Add plenty of good vibes and irresistible tunes on the super-club sonically impressive VOID sound system, and you have it: an all-around “no frills, just house music” party.

As one of the largest and most esteemed dance music brands, Defected delivers quality house music. On the decks will be Gorgon City, Sam Divine, Monki, David, Penn and Kormak.

ANTS
Ushuaïa
Saturday 24th August
https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1228634

Every Saturday this summer, Ushuaïa Ibiza presents its über-successful home-made party ANTS. Starting from mid-afternoon, the Playa d’en Bossa hotspot becomes an ode to all things underground, showcasing some of the biggest names bringing minimalistic beats from some of the top DJs in the tech house realm to the island. People from all over come a-flocking.

ANTS parties start with the DJ booth at the opposite end of the club, moving to the main stage for the last few hours of partying mayhem. It is well worth getting in early for some rowdy daytime action around the pool – the atmosphere is one of the best on the island!

As the sunsets, mind-blowing pyrotechnics, lighting, visuals and a state-of-the-art soundsystem – not to mention some remarkably attired ants-themed gogo dancers – with an abundance of confetti, streamers and CO2 turn it into the distinctive Ushuaïa experience.

Lineup: Andrea Oliva, Detlef B2B Latmun, Dublin, Matthias Tanzmann, Paco Osuna and Tiga.
