The thriving creative output on “Loose Records” continues with “Dave Sinner”
“Sonar” (Barcelona) is one of the inspiring electronic music festivals currently on the radar within Europe. Like many of these types of festivals there is always some familiarity but “Sonar” is one which always seems to have its own special quantity that’s makes it more intriguing.
Here we have an ep that was born out of the “Sonar Off week” and from an artist in “Dave Sinner” who is also a feature of the “Barcelona” music movement. He’s an artist that is gradually staking his place on the scene with releases that have shown his techno influence card in a well presented manner and catching eyes of techno hitters like “Adam Beyer”
“Loose Records” is such a quality stable that cant seem to step a foot wrong with the character and consistency of relaeses. If you follow this label to any degree you will know that when a new release comes out, it’s a quick march to your chosen digital store to check it out and probably more often than not its straight into your digital shopping cart.
“Unwritten Stories” is the first track on this great ep and one, which ticks all the boxes in a modern “Techno” infrastructure. It’s got a nice sonic sound to it from the off that’s quite warm and enticing you to listen louder. Varying transient synth parts are used but carefully placed so not to distract from the percussive build of the track. An almost soulful vocal hit is blended into the groove, which adds an extra elegance to track whilst dark padded riffs undertones build to great emotive affect.
Next we switch over to “Khala” which sonically like the prior track is fantastic and worked well.
It’s a little bit deeper in its mood than “unwritten Stories” as it focuses more on the transient melody riff element but builds with intricacy as smaller details really start to grab your attention.
“Into the Void” is track three here with a slightly tougher edge from play marker 1. Its got a cool bassline / riff with an 80’s electro tinge that gets you hooked whilst it builds along. Like “Unwritten Stories” there a real emotive journey taking place the more you listen and one which will capture the techno and more progressive crowd very well.
Over all a fantastic emphasis on quality from “Dave Sinner” and “loose Records” once again.
