Terminal M are keeping us on our toes with an excellent Ep from “Metodi Hristov”
“Metodi Hristov” is a name that’s been resonating around club land for quite sometime. He’s an artist that originates from Bulgaria and one that I have personally followed for some time.
His releases / remixes have always been consistent in terms of scheduling and also so unique quality.
The Metodi Hristov” production sound is one that is not easy to quantify under one banner, with such an array of influences. There’s often touches of Classic House to Deep House, then tougher Tech house / Techno influenced rhythms and then there’s also the more progressive influences.
If you pop over to your favored digital store and check out his material you will be treated to a great catalogue of music and probably many that you will instantly add to your shopping cat.
You’ll find tracks and remixes on great labels such as “Suara”, “Deepefect”, “Toolroom”, “Stereo Productions” and of course “Terminal M”
This is his second release on the fabulous “Terminal M” following his release along side “Italian artist “Stefano Noferini” titled “Refex EP”. “Reflex Ep” is one, which is still quite heavily featured in many DJ sets and really set the anticipation for this release.
The Ep starts off with the title track “Ariel Vs. Spiderman” which is quite a dedicated percussive number with just the right amount of balance between being dark but with an element of bounce. It features a really nice rolling rounded bass with reverse type tech chords overlaid and filtered vocals aiding the atmosphere. Sonically its well produced and sounds well on both a loud system as well headphones.
Next we have “Atlas” which is a slightly tougher rhythmic outlay than the previous but equally as strong. It builds more atmospherically from the start with filtered style pads as a funky progressive stabbing hits keep you locked in. There’s a really nice dynamic break in the middle with a certain amount of 80’s esque before it kicks back in
Track three on the Ep is titled “kind Of Blue” and one which I really enjoyed for is dubby techno influences. It’s quite deep in mood with a hypnotic approach with nice electronic style rolling percussions. There’s reverberated vocals featured, which kind of add a spooky feel to the overall picture as it builds dynamically in its arrangement.
