The latest release on Clinique Recordings welcomes Abity back to the label for a brand new EP.
The Argentinean duo last appeared on the Russian imprint in December of 2015 with their ‘Dreams’ EP. More recently Abity has been seen with original projects for Balkan Connection and Stellar Fountain. Now for the 192nd release on Clinique we see the duo presenting their brand new 3 track EP entitled ‘Strange Blood’.
Well known both in their homeland and on the global progressive circuit Abity has become loved for their melodic sounds. The lead track here showcases that perfectly with a housey groove and playful synths leading the way. Quirky arps add a unique rhythmic flair as the piece builds before the main break gives the melodies and chord stabs centre stage. A wonderful, summery track to lead off the EP.
Next up ‘Particles’ comes in more deep house oriented and complements the lead piece quite nicely. Again a band of playful melodies and lively percussion gives the track some great bounce before the breakdown takes you on a trip from the musical to the mysterious. A downplayed third act brings a funky approach that should be great for back room play.
The release concludes with ‘Strange’ which sees the duo going even further away from their progressive roots with a loungy production filled with classy design and effortless flow. A mallet style motif steals the show here with a shuffling groove making it perfect for the deeper floors. A main break highlighted by grumbling bass tones perfectly sets up the percussive drop and ultimately leads the track to a gorgeous conclusion. A very diverse EP from Abity and another top notch release from Clinique Recordings. Don’t miss it.
