Dutch artist SQL has a big month ahead with releases on Elevate and Flow Vinyl, we caught up with him for a look at his favourite tracks of the moment in the latest edition of What’s In Your Box?
1.Leon Vynehall – Blush (Original Mix) [Running Back]
“I’ve been a big fan of Leon Vynehall ever since I first discovered him. This is by far my favorite track of the album, summer vibes!”
2. Brame – Shades (Original Mix) [Drumpoet Community]
“Very infectious groove! Not the most special track, but it just grabs me.”
3. Marc Romboy – Counting Comets (Ruede Hagelstein Remix) [Bedrock]
Super dreamy track, for the last hours.”
4. Lay-Far – Rising – In Between Concepts (Original Mix) [Local Talk]
“Smooth and atmopheric, just the way I like it!
5. Victor Ruiz – Soul seek [Sprout]
“My all time favorite track by Victor Ruiz! It sounds like he went in a slightly different direction, which happens to be exactly what I’m in to at the moment.”
6. Solee – Ten [ Parquet Recordings]
“Massive tearjerker! I’ve been following Solee and Parquet for a while, this one really stands out for me.”
7. Brian Cid – Belles du Shaman (Eagles & Butterflies Remix) [microCastle]
“I like to be taken on a journey, this track definitely does that!”
8. Kaap – Three horses and the man that lost it [Yield]
“I love everything about this track. Kaap is a good friend, and he is always nails that dusty gritty sound that I love. Everything super analog with lots of tape hiss and a fuckload of noise. There is just something about that texture that just grabs me.”
9. 3KZ – Distant-Land [Fides]
“My friend Stefan Vincent posted this on his facebook wall and I fell in love with it straight away! Amazing pads, the track gets even better when you slow it down 8 bpm, because i usually don’t play at 132 😉”
10. SQL – Obstacles [Elevate]
“The title track of my upcoming EP on elevate. I’ve been waiting a long time for this to come out, I think it has been over a year already since i finished it. One of the few tracks I’m still happy with and I still play it out on a regular basis”
