MONOLINK REVEALS THIRD SINGLE ‘THE PREY’ FROM FORTHCOMING LP

Credit: Lisa Wassmann

THE GERMAN PRODUCER, SINGER-SONGWRITER, AND MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST CONTINUES TO BUILD UPON HIS EXPERTISE OF MELODIC TECHNO. EFFORTLESSLY CREATING YET ANOTHER HAUNTING  AND MELANCHOLIC HEATER THAT WE CAN’T SAY NO TO.

The captivating performer released his newest single ‘The Prey’ today, with Embassy One, Ultra Records, and Sweat It Out. It has all the makings of a classic Monolink record, as his lofty harmonies are paired down-tempo beats and warped synths. So, while some aspects of ‘The Prey’ are clearly Monolink staples, you can really hear the evolution of his sound. He is increasingly blurring the line between genres, which demonstrates profound sonic exploration.

The Prey is a story of seduction, of using each other. It’s a story of projection, of only seeing yourself in the other. It’s a story of realization, of waking up from a dream.” – Monolink

We’re itching to see him perform live again! Unfortunately, Monolink was yet another artist who had to cancel his almost sold out 2020 tour due to covid-19. As a result (and luckily for us), this extra studio time has delivered a hat-trick of transportive records to feast on.

Monolink remains one of the most dynamic melodic techno selectors on the scene today. Support from industry royalty like Damian Lazarus, Lee Burridge, Patrice Bäumel, Ben Böhmer, Artbat, and Nicole Moudaber can prove it. His ability to connect with his audience and captivate a crowd is unparalleled (his Mayan Warrior performance at Burning Man stands out to me), and if ‘The Prey,’ ‘Sinner,’ and ‘Otherside’ are any indication of what’s to come in Monolink’s forthcoming album – then we’re definitely in for quite a musical ride.
