Joyce Muniz gets Remixed by Huxley and Lubelski in New Desert Hearts Single, ‘Deeper The Soul’

Black Diamonds owner Joyce Muniz has been a staple of the European dance scene for well over two decades, and in that time has blossomed into a bonafide star with releases on powerhouse labels spanning from Exploited to Poker Flat. She also shares a tight bond with California institution Desert Hearts, where she’s signed her latest single: “Deeper The Soul,” featuring lyrics by G.Rizo and remixes by powerplayers Huxley and Lubelski.

“Deeper The Soul” gets right to hypnotizing listeners with its central synth progression, which shows that a little goes a long way when it comes to impact. G.Rizo adds to the entrancement thanks to her intriguing lyrics and distinctive voice. These two elements are the track’s centerpieces, combining for a mysterious, yet edgy finished product.

Its remixers provide standout edits to the original. Huxley speeds things up for his rendition, rebuilding it completely with quirky sound effects and various filter placements throughout. Drawn out, tense breakdowns and the spastic, the manic synth bursts that follow make it ideal for stomping on the living room floor. Meanwhile, Lubelski takes a more nuanced approach, adapting “Deeper The Soul” into a driving, minimal-leaning piece that fits well into his repertoire. All three tracks burst with originality and drive, making quite a splash on the label. Order a copy here
