Wakana Reunion Announce 1000 Capacity Festival In Cádiz Natural Park

Acid Pauli, Mira, Alice Phoebe Lou (Live), Kalabrese, Otzeki (Live), Yoko, Nickodemus… 17th-19th May 2019

Wakana Reunion returns in 2019 to celebrate its ‘Full Moon Edition’. This is the second edition of a festival for only a thousand people that will happen coinciding with the full moon of May in Los Alcornocales, a natural park in Cádiz where the historian Alberto Porlan locates the mysterious lost city of Atlantis. A valley with impressive views to a large lake surrounded by Phoenician remains, Neolithic dolmens and painted caves. A location of incredible spiritual importance that goes with the philosophy the event represents: the true meaning of the community (reunion) and the connection between ourselves and nature.

In its first edition, Wakana Reunion was sold out– only 1000 people invited through a mysterious secret access code could attend the event, with the intention of preserving a small community vibe and differentiating from the well-known macrofestivals. Around the magical lake, an audience of more than 30 nationalities was reunited: Canada, Australia, Beirut, India, Argentina, or the United States, without forgetting our beloved European neighbours.

With music as an axis of connection, today we announce the line-up of the second edition of Wakana Reunion: a program exquisitely coordinated with the environment, both for day and night, with up to 36 international artists and a common denominator: a musical selection in harmony with the landscape and with the public that Wakana Reunion chooses.

WAKANA REUNION ‘FULL MOON EDITION’ FULL LINE-UP It is no coincidence that the German Martin Gretschmann leads the poster of Wakana Reunion in his ‘Full Moon Edition’. His musical background in projects as immense as Console or The Notwist grant the credibility so that his aka techno, Acid Pauli, shine with intensity and elegance in any event, outstanding in the production being the leader of the musical movement ‘Downtempo’.

The talented Kalabrese, from Switzerland, adds to the festival line up with a special sensibility and an incredible talent for the musical composition with which he will undoubtedly catch the audience of Wakana Reunion. While the so-called ‘Queen of Berlin’, Mira, will unfold her fascinating selection of Deep House sounds with which she has conquered dance floors from around the world, including Burning Man.

We are proud to present the incorporation to the line up of Wakana Reunion of Alice Phoebe Lou, live, presenting the release of her new album ‘Paper Castles’, which will also be presented just few days later on the main stage of the well-known festival Primavera Sound. The young South African songwriter has developed an overwhelming personality in her fusion of blues, folk, indie sounds, along with her nomadic and street essence and her spectacular soprano voice. Three members of Alice’s band are also the soul of  RAS, another band confirmed in our ‘Full Moon Edition’.

Nickodemus will bring us the musical roots of the different corners of the planet fused around his cosmopolitan New York influences, in a multicultural and perfect trip. The duo composed by Mike Sharp and Joel Roberts, in the electronic music scene better known under the name of Otzeki, will offer their atmospheric live and their first album just out of the oven, as the fundamental ingredients for an energetic electronic result.

YokoO, outstanding artist of ‘All Day I Dream’, will bring us his seductive house music; with the Muscovites Geju we will travel towards the slow house and the chillrave; with the member of Feathered Sun, Jo.Ke, we will transport you with his voice through his live and an acoustic session and with Rico Loop, who already joined us in the first edition of Wakana Reunion, we will wake up with a three hours sunrise set.

And to surprise, we are pleased to present in our second edition of Wakana Reunion Josué Bonnín de Góngora, one of the best contemporary classical pianists and composers, presenting in world premiere a new composition entitled ‘Las Lejanías de Vélez’.

MoM, Marino Canal b2b Miguel Payda; Dorado (Live), Loewanthal, Coma Soundsystem (Sugar Free & Fonte), Melanie Charles (Live) and Los Dos complete, among others, a line up that will surely make of our second edition an event and an experience to remember.

Another year, Wakana Reunion counts with the excellent help of MUZO Creativefor the elaboration of its musical program.

MORE MUSIC – As a novelty, the ‘Full Moon edition’ of Wakana Reunion will feature a 24-hour music program and two new surprising spaces, Palapa Stage, where special ‘Sunrise Sets’ will be developed at the lakeside and La Gran Yurta, a space dedicated to connect with our more spiritual interior through various ceremonies and rituals. Along with the main spaces will alternate the musical eclectic of an exclusive and unique reunion in which diversity in all aspects is the key. Instrumental music, dj sessions and classical concerts of disparate styles that range from blues to flamenco, going through electronics, folk, soul or cumbia, among many others.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES – In a unique environment due to its geographical location, bridge between two continents, two oceans and two cultures, Wakana Reunion displays in its second edition a program of parallel activities focused on the well-being of body and mind, among which we will find rituals, ceremonies, yoga sessions or ayurvedic massages to channel the energy that comes to an environment in which the protagonist is the cork oak, while its bark, the cork, represents the element on which for a long time the human relations (reunion) of the area have turned…

We can also enjoy a wide range of water sports activities in the lake such as paddle surfing, kayaking or water skiing.

Gastronomy will be another of the strengths of the reunion with three differentiated areas with local specialties such as retinto meat, Almadraba tuna or vegetarian and vegan options with seasonal vegetables from the area.

The Kids Space evolves in this ‘Full Moon Edition’ with more activities and proposals focused on the magic of the game, relaxation, rest, education and awareness.

In addition, we will have the Wakana Market, a space for selling young creators’ handicrafts with the aim of promoting a sustainable and ethical lifestyle model.

SUSTAINABILITY – Wakana Reunion “Full Moon Edition” is closely committed to nature and the environment, strict environmental awareness and respect measures will be applied to try to become one of the first 100% sustainable festivals in Europe.

ACCOMMODATION – We include in our proposal exquisite and original nomad accommodation options: Choose between teepees, yurts or bell tents, consciously located in the natural park under the precepts of the feng shui philosophical system.

TICKETS – Tickets for Wakana Reunion ‘Full Moon Edition’ are already on sale through our website http://www.wakanalakereunion.com/, there you can also request the access code, essential to complete the purchase of the tickets of one of the most original and exclusive festivals, a unique and unrepeatable meeting for only a thousand lucky ones.
