Uone & Western Collaborate On New Track ‘Desert Fire’

It’s out now on the Beat & Path record label and features a remix by Elif.

Uone returns to his record label Beat & Path with a stunning new track made in collaboration with Western.

This is the first time the two Australian artists have come together to release original material since their 2020 album, The Lone Wranglers.

Both of the guys are at the forefront of the Australian scene with Uone also running the Chi Wow Wah Town festival and events. Western is an accomplished DJ who is a regular feature at festivals and other prestigious events across the country.

Boasting releases on other record labels such as Sol Selectas and Katermukke, the guys are regular collaborators, but Uone boasts solo releases on the likes of Balance Music and Western has featured on Stil Vor Talent.

Their latest track “Desert Fire” also features a remix from Elif who’s a Turkish artist synonymous with labels such as Anjunadeep and A Tribe Called Kotori.

The original mix has tinkling melodies and sweeping pads fused with dramatic piano chords and medley of organic instruments. It’s got a variety of sections that each tell a part of the tracks epic story and its cinematic vocal samples add personality. Pushed forward by the groove of the bassline, its weeping violin strings are hauntingly spine-tingling.

Elif’s remix is a refined version that focuses on building tension as the track unfolds, she also adds her own synth line which becomes the main focal point. Her spellbinding rework is a remix masterclass that really adds to the dance floor appeal of the track.
