Spektre Presents ‘Rebel Boy’ On Their Label Respekt

Out now, the American techno artist drops his ‘The Ties That Bind Us’ EP on the influential imprint.

Rebel Boy is an American artist who first turned heads with a release on Frankyeffe‘s Riot Recordings before continuing to dazzle with tracks signed to Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds and UMEK’s 1605.

His dark and intense style of peak-time techno has been picking up support by names like Space 92, Ramon Tapia, Joyhauser and many of the other scene leading techno DJs.

This time Rebel Boy is back with a two-track EP on Spektre’s record label Respekt, and it’s another great example of his exceptional talent for making hard-hitting techno with invigorating energy.

The release is opened by the title track “The Ties That Bind Us” which wastes no time in getting into the flow of things. Building the tension with a rumbling bassline that gets over layered with a grinding pad sound, the thrashing percussion and fluttering lead synth are lifted by euphoric bursts of seductive vocal textures.

“Strange Pulse” is the second of the tracks, and it’s the darker and more intense of the two cuts on the EP. Snare rolls and atmospheric textures add building suspense, while the explosive percussion drives the track, and eerie synth sounds burst forth with raw power that would make a dance floor erupt with excitement.

Overall, a very well put together EP that’s on sale now, and you can pick up a copy from HERE
