Sabo’s label Sol Selectas brings in the new year with an EP from label favourite Zakir who is returning to the imprint for his third EP.

Based in Russia, Zakir has also contributed his music for release on other labels such as Exotic Refreshment, Akbal Music and Nazca.

Zakir’s two original songs have been inspired by his daughter Yasmin, who was always playing with her toys in the background, while he produced the tracks in his home studio. The playful sounds of those toys appear in both songs, giving this EP a deeply personal meaning.

The two originals are also accompanied by remixes from Kadosh who has been featured on notable labels like microCastle, Watergate and Innervisions. UK based Kincaid also provides a remix in the quirky style he has showcased on Disco Halal, Anjunadeep, Chapter 24 Records and Nie Wieder Schlafen.

Here at CU we are proud to premiere the original mix of “Whirligig” which is the second of the two originals, and it centres around bubbling acid and mystic synths.
