Movement Torino announces Sound Journey at Torino Airport and more

The biggest and best Movement Festival is just around the corner on October 12th and 13th. The famous Lingotto conference centre in Turin will play host to world-class talents such as Ellen Allien, Jon Hopkins, Nina Kraviz, The Martinez Brothers, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, Derrick May, Levon Vincent, Solomun, Underground Resistance and plenty more.

Before the main event, a series of special parties are all planned in various exciting venues round the city. Under the banner of Movement on the Road, a series of small happenings in cool spots around the city feature top DJ sets and will continue with six events until October 5th. These will be pop-up events running from “Aperitivo time” (6pm) until midnight, where one of the Movement residents will play while the crowd can enjoy a beer and finger food. So far they have taken place on 21st September at Taglio Pizza Perfetta, on 23rd September at Banco Vini & Alimenti, on 27th September at Flora Bar, and there will be two more on 5th October at Blanco Bar, and Drogheria with the date TBC.

Also in the run-up to the event was La Stampa Sound Journey at Torino Airport: a special preview with a premiere live performance by Ivan Bert and his band providing an out of the ordinary sound experience to passengers.

Then after the main event there is also Politechno on October 15th at Politecnico di Torino, a workshop hosted by Derrick May on the origins and development of electronic music that will provide some fascinating insight from one of the greatest in the game.

For the main event itself, the conference centre hosts 15,000 people and will be converted into different arenas which are transformed with LED screens, impressive light and huge speaker stacks. It all kicks off on Friday 12th October, when Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Witte, Ellen Allien, Francesco Tristano live, Joseph Capriati, Nina Kraviz, Solomun and Waajeed live all taking care of day one.

Saturday 13th October, meanwhile, welcomes Cosmo live, Derrick May, DJ Bone, Ilario Alicante, Jon Hopkins live, KiNK live, Levon Vincent, Lone live, The Martinez Brothers and Underground Resistance live.

With its famous environmental awareness and award-winning approach, cashless payment system and sense of social responsibility, Movement Torino is once again set to be the most essential techno gathering in Europe.
