Mha Iri Drops New EP ‘You Are Mine’

The two-track release is out now on UMEK’s record label, 1605.

Mha Iri was a core member of the Australian techno scene before moving to the UK.

UMEK’s 1605 continues its love affair with Mha Iri who is fast becoming one of the most consistent artists on the record label, second only to UMEK himself.

Mha Iri was originally known for her close ties to the Australian club scene after spending many years living in the country, but she is originally from Scotland and recently moved back to the UK.

You Are Mine is Mha Iri’s latest EP on 1605 and it’s her eighth release on the label following her imprint debut in 2020. She is also known for her contributions to other influential record labels including AnalyticTrail, Respekt and Codex.

Opening the release is the title track “You Are Mine” and it’s a bone-rattling slice of techno that builds suspense as it approaches the main breakdown section which introduces a lurching bassline. The seductive vocal and unnerving synth lines create an enthralling tension that would definitely build excitement on the dance floor.

“In My Soul” has a lot of elements similar to the previous track, but it’s got a touch more energy due to the rumbling bassline and fast-paced hi-hat rhythms. It’s also got flickers of acid and an epic breakdown section that provides a brief moment of tranquillity before relaunching its powerful groove.

We are told that DJs already supporting the release include Wehbba, Rebūke, Veerus and Spektre.
