Melbourne’s Iconic Nightclub ‘Revolver Upstairs’ Is Turning 24

The iconic Australian venue has played host to DJs ranging from Sven Väth to Jamie Jones.

Revolver Upstairs is a jewel in Australia’s clubbing crown.

Nightlife royalty, Revolver Upstairs is a late-night destination for those looking for the finest electronic sounds Australia has to offer.

Based in Melbourne, its line-ups showcase homegrown talent along with touring DJs from around the world. With everyone from Sven Väth and Ricardo Villalobos to Jamie Jones and Claude VonStroke having played sets on the venue’s hallowed sound system.

Along with electronic music the venue also has a daytime ristorante, live bands and art shows. The club kicks off Friday night, and runs through to midday on Saturday. The venue reopens at 5pm Saturday night, then doesn’t close again until 9am on Monday.

On Saturday the 11th of September, Revolver Upstairs will be celebrating its 24th birthday. In the words of the venue’s social Instagram page, “that’s right 24 years of music, 24 years of mayhem and 24 years making memories”.

Due to local lockdown, the venue won’t be able to open its doors to throw a party, but it invites all its regulars to put on their Revolver Upstairs branded merchandise, and share their celebratory pictures with the hashtag #RepRevsDay.

They also have branded slipmats, so if you don’t want to wear the clothes, then put on the decks, and play a vinyl set of your favourite tracks that you associate with memories of the venue.

You can buy merch or find out more by visiting their website where locals can also order takeaway drinks from HERE
