Julian Rodriguez & Andrei Niconoff – Cross Roads (Superordinate Music)

Superordinate Music returns this week with a brand new single from Julian Rodriguez & Andrei Niconoff.

Hailing from Argentina and Mexico respectively this is not a first time collaboration for the duo having released ‘Fuego Blanco’ on Deesky’s Soundteller Records in October of last year. Superordinate Music now presents their much anticipated follow up entitled ‘Cross Roads’ alongside remixes from Pacco & Rudy B and AudioStorm.

For all that loved the warm, summery sounds of ‘Fuego Blanco’ you’re bound to enjoy ‘Cross Roads’ as well. A similar design profile is a joy for the ears, as smooth grooves and floaty melodies come together for many gorgeous moments. There’s a timeless quality running through the entire production and the break packs the biggest emotional punch, with heartfelt chord changes providing all the magic you could ever want. Beautiful work form Julian and Andrei.

Both remixes bring contrasting vibes which makes for a well rounded package. First up A Must Have residents Pacco & Rudy B go dubbier and a bit more driving, resulting in a great progressive minded interpretation. The focus goes on that tried and tested rolling groove and lightly accented melodies, which seem to add just the right emotional touch. A great complement to the original and one that the pure progressive house DJs are sure to love.

The release concludes with the always interesting AudioStorm making his eighth appearance on the label. The Montenegrin artist has grown immensely since his early releases back in 2012 and now owns a discography with appearances on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. For his ‘Cross Roads’ interpretation he brings something more stripped and musical, with lovely strums adding a unique flair. Shifty tones highlight the first act, setting the mix apart thematically with the vibe and energy rising even higher through to an exhilarating third act finale. Gorgeous remix from AudioStorm and a great release from Superordinate Music once again. Don’t miss it.
