Indian based Rudra talks about his deep and melodic new release on the Aboriginal label.

Hi Rudra, can you start by telling us about yourself, and how you first got into electronic music?

I started my career as a club DJ in Kolkata, India in 2009 and since the very beginning, I was interested in house music, which soon turned into enjoying more underground sounds and encouraged me to dig deeper. I would always ask myself a question as I got more exposure to electronic music, that I wish to really produce something which represents me. So this became the turning point and pushed me towards focusing on becoming an electronic music producer.

Could you talk us through your new track “Swarth“ and the ep that ep it features on?

Swarth means selfish, so basically, I was listening to one of the audios from Osho, while I was in the middle of my new deep house track and I somehow wanted to bring them together, using the best phrases from Osho’s speech. As far as the ep is concerned, the EP has 3 tracks “Charitra, Swarth and Dhairya and it focuses on deep, melodic and dark vibes.

How did you meet the team behind Aboriginal who is realising your new EP, is this your first release for the imprint?

One of my fellow producers Dharmalogy suggested to me Aboriginal and told me that they release the kind of music I am producing. I am very much happy with Aboriginal and the kind of response I have had here for my music. Swarth is my 3rd release with the imprint including 1 compilation and 1 full album of 7 tracks which received some amazing support.

Which other labels have you worked with, and what’s been your proudest moment to date?

I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the finest labels in India like’ Soupherb Records and Coalition Music and also a couple of labels from European countries such as Stig, Big Mamas House, Datatech and more, there have been quite a few proud moments. In fact, I’m proud of myself just because I’m able to share the music with others and do what I love the most.

But to put in simple words’ I still remember the feeling that I had when I signed my first ep. I think that’s my proudest moment 🙂

Have there been any name DJ’s supporting your music, and who’s the DJ/ producer that inspire you the most?

There have been some big names supporting my music like Kasper Koman, Lonya, Marc Depulse, Tim Penner, Gai Barone, David Granha, Haze-m, Rafa’el, Olivier Weiter, Calm Chor (India) and more there are couple names that inspire me the most. Ever since I started playing electronic music Olivier Giacomotto has been one artist who’s track will find a spot in my playlist. I have followed him since the days of 128 bpm banging hard techno, tech house to melodic progressive and underground sounds. Another name that I would like to mention would be Cubicolor 🙂

What’s next in your schedule after the aboriginal release?

Currently, I’m focusing on making better music and improving my sounds and working towards finishing the 3rd album of my career, which I will release in 2020. Apart from this I am doing a lot of experiments with my upcoming tracks to create something fresh. Next in the schedule is to be better than 2019, make more music, and connect to more people around the world.

I would like to thank a few people here for continuously supporting and guiding me in my career. Dharmalogy plus 8-Bit and Culprit for always helping me out to make better music and setting the standard so high that it won’t let me settle for anything ordinary.
