George Ledakis & Xiasou – Feeling (Just Movement)

The 42nd release on Just Movement welcomes George Ledakis & Xiasou to the label for their debut EP.

The Greek duo began their collaborative partnership in March of this year with a single on Clinique Recordings. Well received, George and Xiasou quickly followed that up with a remix of the Magnetic Brothers for Tash’s Movement Recordings in March. Now making their much anticipated Just Movement debut George and Xiasou present their ‘Feeling’ EP alongside remixes from Simos Tagias and Pablo German.

Featuring the gorgeous vocals of famed radio DJ Anna Maria, the title track ‘Feeling’ leads the release off. Lush gates, warm beats and pristinely tailored percussion set the stage for Anna’s distinctive vocals. Coming in waves and complemented with emotive melodies, it’s a gorgeous storyboard of breathy wails and poignant hooks. A short, timely and deliciously hypnotic break sits at the centrepiece setting up an even more heartwarming finale. A stunning collaboration from George, Xiasou and Anna Maria. The companion piece ‘Ocho’ finds the duo going deeper, darker and just as intriguing. Warm tones, rolling grooves and ethereal vocals come together for a bevy of heavenly moments. It makes for a gorgeous first act, setting up a dreamy break which ultimately steals the show before a tasteful drop brings yet another magic moment. A charming late night creation from George and Xiasou.

The lone interpretation of ‘Feeling’ is provided by Simos Tagias who is making his first appearance on Just Movement. The Greek producer has grown into one of progressive music’s most in demand artists and also owns releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Cid Inc’s Replug Records. Now making his much anticipated Just Movement debut Simos put his own unique twist on ‘Feeling’. Going deeper, darker and more organic in design, Simos creates something equally enticed for both your mind and feet. It’s chunky groove comes with capsizing swing while Anna’s lush vocals and dazzling effects trail through the framework. Luminous chord stabs light up the atmosphere carrying the piece into the main break. With drama and tension at a premiere Simos constructs a deadly build, complete with a full drum roll and vocal edits before a powerful drop delivers the final blow. Massive remix from Simos and likely his best and most sought after this year.

The lone interpretation of ‘Ocho’ is provided by Pablo German who is making his second appearance on the label. The Argentinean artist made his Just Movement debut in July of last year with the well received ‘Believe’ single alongside remixes from Michael A and Gvozdini. Now making his much anticipated return Pablo closes the release out very strong with a great rendition of ‘Ocho’. A chugging groove and tribal drums set the piece in motion before dreamy vocal snips and drifting atmospheres slowly surround the framework. Low slung chord changes add an emotive flair as a full melodic complement carries nicely into the main break. Phasing vocals add a touch of tension to centrepiece before the irresistible groove returns for a smooth finale. A lovely interpretation from Pablo which rounds out another excellent offering from Just Movement. Highly Recommended.
