Antrim & Analog Jungs – Time To Words (Sound Avenue)

The latest release on Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint finds the label showcasing a new collaboration from Antrim and Analog Jungs.

Hailing from Argentina, both Antrim and Analog Jungs have enjoyed immense success in their respective solo careers, with a long line of Hernan Cattaneo supported productions and appearances on Manual Music, Perspectives Digital and Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint. Now the trio comes together once again with their latest studio creation ‘Konephoros’ complemented with remixes from Robert R. Hardy and Eze Ramirez.

Having worked together in the past the studio synergy between Antrim and Analog Jungs is formidable and ‘Konephoros’ is perhaps their crowning achievement thus far. Backed by a full, rolling groove there’s an infectious mood from the outset. Sombre atmospheres bring their own mystical charm as waves of noise and delicate melodies initiate the break. Percussive decay and white noise complement the hopeful moods before one final pass summons the groove back for an atmospheric finale.

The second original ‘Time to Words’ finds Antrim going solo with a production strongly tied to his progressive house roots. A fluid bass line roots the piece, flowing through smooth chord changes as astral pads slowly descend over the framework. Rolling rhythms pick up the pace nicely as tribal infused drums add their own unique cadence. A defining moment, the track’s centrepiece brings the tension down for a instance of calm before a drum interlude sets up a gorgeous return and lovely finale.

The lone interpretation of ‘Konephoros’ is provided by Robert R. Hardy who returning to Sound Avenue for his second appearance. The Hungarian artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint when he won the label’s 5Y remix contest with an excellent rendition of ‘Eye’ by Kastis Tarrau & Arnas D. Renowned for his deep and dubby creations, the Hungarian artist has appeared on nostalgic imprints like GU Music while earning consistent support from Hernan Cattaneo. Now making his much anticipated return to Sound Avenue he delivers a gorgeous remix of ‘Konephoros’. Opting for a dreamier approach Robert lifts the original elements higher with spiritual designs and vocal phrases. Stellar drum work and a swing heavy groove anchor the atmospheric journey while a timely break resets the top end keeping the focus firmly on the dance floor.
Brilliant remix from Robert.

The release concludes with Sound Avenue label artist Eze Ramirez returning for his third appearance. The Argentinean artist is fresh off his ‘Began’ EP which enjoyed an extended stay in Beatport’s Progressive House chart and now sits as his best selling track overall. Continuing to build on that momentum Eze delivers a musically inspired interpretation of ‘Time to Words’. While the rhythmic core remains relatively intact, newfound layers bring a meditative vibe while vocal edits and chilling hooks fill out the framework. The track’s centrepiece brings you further into hypnosis before a commanding third act of beefed up drums provides a massive finale. A top notch remix from Eze which rounds out another excellent release from Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint. Highly Recommended.
