5 Top Surgeon Tracks

Anthony Child has way more than 5 top tracks. In this article you can explore some of them

Anthony Child, aka Surgeon, has proven to be one of techno’s finest talents. His rigorous technical skills and a strong sense for aesthetics has helped him develop the rich techno-palette repertoire which continues to affect and inspire both his fans on the dancefloor, as well as, at the studios.

In this article, I will share only five of the numerous Surgeon tracks which are worth a listen.

If you want to hear the Birmingham icon live, he will be playing at Dockyard Festival alongside Nastia, Mind Against, Len Faki, Recondite, Dvs1, Dax J, Ellen Allien, Monika Kruse, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, DJ Bone, Surgeon, Radio Slave, Lady Starlight, Jeroen Search, Matrixxmann and many more. And, finally, here are the five tracks!

Surgeon – Atol

Produced in 1995, Atol is subtle, but strong, Detroit-sounding minimal gem. It blows-out electronics gently, over a steady pumping drum pattern.

Surgeon – Raw Trax 2

A newer one on Anthony’s repertoire. Raw Trax 2 sounds more uplifting but is still a nasty one. The track was recorded at ADE 2018. The track was produced using only a PIN Electronics Portabella synth and a TR-909 –  recorded straight to tape.

Surgeon – Fixed Action Pattern (Dub Version)

A dub edit of an original released on Token. Even though it moves slower, it is hard ‘n’ rusty. More of an abstract one but really shows the deeper and darker side of Surgeon.

Surgeon – Convenience Trap 4

A leftfield sounding flute builds up on top of a distorted breakbeat throughout the duration of the track and makes it more and more intense.

Surgeon – Transparent Radiation

A dialectical relationship between toxicity and melancholy reminds of beautiful decay.

Surgeon will be playing Dockyard on 19 October at Havenpark Amsterdam. Some of the others on the line up this year include Nastia, Mind Against, Len Faki, Recondite, Dvs1, Dax J, Ellen Allien, Monika Kruse, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, DJ Bone, Surgeon, Radio Slave, Lady Starlight, Jeroen Search, Matrixxmann and many others.
