‘2 Degrees’ Is A New Music Festival Launching In Melbourne, Australia.

The four-day carbon neutral event will run between the 3rd and 6th of March 2022.

2 Degrees is a brand-new Australian festival that will launch in the countryside near Melbourne on the 3rd of March 2022.

With a line-up of mainly local artists, the event has 80 sonic and visual artists including music performances by Adriana, Ausecuma Beats, DJ Life, In2Stellar, C. From, Wax’O Paradiso, Merve and Juicy Romance.

Focusing mainly on underground electronic music, the carbon-neutral event also has a focus on environmental sustainability, and will be running immersive cultural learning sessions on the topic. Bushwalks, art and other activities will also be on offer.

With a capacity of 3,000 people, the event is run by Caleb Ostwald who is only 20 years old, but already a young entrepreneur who has many years of business experience behind him including his own eco-store ‘Verve’.

Caleb Ostwald said the inspiration for running the event came from seeing the damage the pandemic has done to the arts industry. Watching his friends struggle through the tough times inspired him to curate an event that showcased all the local talent in his local area of Melbourne.

Talking to the Beat about 2 Degrees, Caleb Ostwald said: “We had the option to book international artists to bolster the line-up, but Melbourne has such an amazing offering of local acts who push the envelope so hard. It’s such a diverse and innovative community and they have been dealing with so many cancellations over the last couple of years.” He then continued: “2 Degrees is a new taste of what an independent local event can be.”
